Adidas NMD R1 Primeknit Core Black/Purple

This collaborative adidas NMD R1 sees adidas join forces with Finnish home Adidas Shoes Mens furnishings, textiles, and fashion company Marimekko Oyj as they cover the sleek silhouette in a black stretchy upper along with contrasting white on the three stripes branding, tongue tags, and the full-length Boost midsole. Finishing details include pink on the EVA insert on the midsole, the branding on the tongue tags and heel tabs, and Marimekko’s “Laine” graphic on the heel.


Boasting a tried-and-proven Primeknit upper, the Popular Style forthcoming pair features a relatively unassuming arrangement. Synthetic reinforcement across the mid-foot and vamp blend into their pitch-black surroundings, as does the stability counter at the heel. BOOST foam visible throughout the midsole interrupts the “Core Black” makeup with its standard white scheme, while lateral accents deliver red and blue flair that harkens back to 2015; the lone medial EVA plug indulges in a scarlet tone. Underfoot, tread keeps things simple in black.


Adidas NMD R1 Primeknit Core Black/Purple construction throughout the upper indulges in the pair’s titular hue, while profile 3-Stripes and accompanying branding deliver stark “Cloud White” contrast; support structures on the rear follow suit. Underfoot, EVA plugs also partake in a “colorless” arrangement, which carries over onto the now-ubiquitous BOOST midsole. Yet to arrive to the UltraBOOST 21, “Gum” tread introduces more lifestyle flair to the Three Stripes‘ casual style.


Running Shoes To go along with the “OG Black” and “OG White” colorway, adidas will also be releasing a “Grey” NMD R1 colorway that also comes with OG vibes. This offering of the adidas NMD R1 features a Grey stretch knitted upper with Black Three Stripes, laces, lining, heel piece and rubber outsole. A White Boost midsole with Red and Blue insert overlays to give off that OG vibe completes the design.
