dependence is a non-self-sufficiency, an attachment to something that makes a person feel satisfied without making any effort to do so. I looked here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xnZE5Rv4Et4 Steven Yohay predisposing factors for the development of addiction can be social, biological, and psychological. It is worth noting that men are 5 times more likely than women to suffer from drug addiction. The children and relatives of alcoholics and drug addicts are 4-6 times more likely than children of healthy parents. Psychological preconditions for addiction can be a situational reaction (frustration, stress response) in which a person resorts to the use of psychoactive substances in order to alleviate his condition, and can also be an addictive personality type formed as a result of upbringing.

Alcoholism is a medical and social disease. It can only be diagnosed by an addiction specialist. What are the signs of alcohol dependence syndrome? It is a strong desire to drink alcohol, difficult to control drinking, increased tolerance to alcohol, withdrawal state, preference for drinking alcohol to other activities. Difficulties associated with alcoholism treatment are low percentage of patients seeking help, insufficient motivation for treatment, unsatisfactory effectiveness of therapy, pharmacoresistance of addictive disorders. Alcoholism treatment is only possible with a comprehensive biopsychosocial approach.
