The furniture store is located at 106 Bill Conn Parkway in Gray and is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
David Duncan, store manager, said he was excited for the grand opening. He said he graduated from Jones County High School and lives in Haddock. He said everything he does is in Gray, so he knows what the town needs and the people.

“We celebrated Farmers home Furniture’s 100th store since opening up here in Georgia. There are 250 stores throughout seven states,” he said. “This was a big day for Farmers home Furniture, and a big part of history for us.”

He said he has been with Farmers home Furniture for 32 years. He said people have been asking him when Gray would get a Farmers home Furniture, and he always told people there would be one when he felt Gray was ready. He said he felt Gray was ready now.

“Gray needs any good business. This is a great fit for Gray because there are no other furniture stores in town,” Duncan said.

The store manager said they keep their pricing affordable, and they try to give the best customer service they can. He said people should shop at Farmers home Furniture because it’s a hometown store. He said he guarantees 100 percent satisfaction.

“We sell everything here at Farmers,” the manager said. “We have washers, dryers, living room furniture, dinette sets, bedroom furniture, and pretty much anything you can think of you’d need for your home. We even do special orders if we need to.”

Clint Hall, the president of Farmers home Furniture, said it was exciting to see the store with all the furniture finally in place. He said it was a challenge with COVID to get things settled. He said now that the store is open, people can come in and see what they have to offer.

Hall said he’s been a part of Farmers home Furniture for 40 years, and he loves the people he works with. He said he’s never had another job. He said he started out delivering furniture in Vidalia in 1980.

“From 1949 to 2021 we finally reached our 100-store mark. We were so excited to be celebrating right in Gray, Georgia. Gray isn’t too far from our home office down in Dublin. This was something special,” he said.

The president said he feels anyone in the community can walk into the furniture store and get something. He said they offer financing and free interest for customers who wish to take advantage of that. He said people in the community should check out the store.

“We looked at Gray for a long time, so when Fred’s closed, we decided to take the opportunity,” Hall said. “This turned out to be a beautiful store. There’s a lot of towns in Georgia we want to get to, but we’re happy with this location.”
